What Is A Breast Augmentation?A breast augmentation, also known as an augmentation mammoplasty, is a great procedure if you want to enhance the size, shape, or symmetry of your breasts. To do this, your plastic surgeon will implant a silicone or saline filled implant either above or below the muscle, to give you your desired shape and size.
Breast augmentation surgery is performed under general anesthesia and the procedure typically lasts between 60-90 minutes.

Patients who identify with the following may be a good candidate for a breast augmentation. However, the only way to determine your candidacy for breast augmentation surgery is to meet with a plastic surgeon during a consultation:
Usually patients are able to return to work one week after surgery. However, patients must avoid cardiovascular activity and cannot lift anything above 5 lbs for about 4 - 6 weeks after surgery or until they've been cleared by their plastic surgeon.
It is important to understand that each patient is unique and your recovery time can depend on a variety of factors.
