Liposuction can be performed under both general and local anesthesia.
Our team is located in Orlando, FL so we follow the regulations set in place by our state. Florida regulations limit plastic surgeons to a maximum of 4 liters of fat removal which is roughly 8-9 pounds. Depending on which state your preferred plastic surgeon operates in, the maximum limit may vary.
Patients who identify with the following may be a good candidate for liposuction. However, the only way to determine your candidacy for liposuction is to meet with a plastic surgeon during a consultation:
Usually patients are able to return to work one week after surgery. However, patients must avoid cardiovascular activity and cannot lift anything above 5 lbs for about 4 weeks after surgery or until they've been cleared by their plastic surgeon.
